Question 1

Will this screen protector fit my 2026 M5 MacBook Air 15-inch?

Accepted Answer

FILMEXT lists compatibility for 2026–2023 models (M5–M2), but keep in mind the 2026 M5 Air hasn’t launched yet. Some early testers say the protector is slightly off on pre-production units. If you’re buying for a future M5 model, we recommend checking the exact model number (A2941, A3114, or A3241) against the listing. For the most reliable fit, buy after receiving your MacBook so you can confirm within the return window.

Question 2

Does the anti-glare coating make the screen look grainy or less sharp?

Accepted Answer

A few users on Reddit and TikTok mention a subtle “sparkle” or grain effect under direct sunlight—this is common with matte protectors. Most people don’t notice it indoors, but if you do photo editing or watch high-definition video, the slight optical shift might bother you. For a clearer view, try the glossy version of this protector instead.

Question 3

How do I avoid bubbles—especially around the notch?

Accepted Answer

The included alignment frame helps a lot, but bubbles near the notch are the top complaint. Pro tip: clean your screen with the included wipe, use a piece of tape to lift the protector after the first press, and slowly roll it down from center. If bubbles appear after 48 hours, gently push them to the edge with a soft microfiber cloth. Many users find success with the “hinge method” shown in FILMEXT’s YouTube guide.

Question 4

I’m worried about sticky residue when removing the protector later. Any risk?

Accepted Answer

A small number of users report slight adhesive residue after 6+ months, especially if the protector was exposed to heat or direct sunlight. To avoid this, remove the protector within the first 12 months if possible, and use a gentle heat source (like a hairdryer on low) to soften the adhesive. If residue remains, a tiny drop of isopropyl alcohol on a cloth usually cleans it without hurting the screen.

Question 5

Is this better than the Belkin or Spigen options for the same price?

Accepted Answer

The FILMEXT is a budget-friendly choice that does a solid job reducing eye strain and glare. However, if you’re a perfectionist about fit and clarity, many TikTok reviewers recommend spending $10–15 more on Belkin UltraGlass (industry-leading clarity) or Spigen Tempered Glass (better edge-to-edge coverage). For causal daily use on a 2023–2025 MacBook Air, FILMEXT is a reliable value pick—just double-check your exact model number before ordering.
