Question 1

Is the setup complicated? I've seen mixed comments about the instructions.

Accepted Answer

The physical setup is straightforward—connect the cables to the right ports. However, some users find the included manual a bit brief. For the smoothest experience, we recommend checking UGREEN's official setup video on YouTube. Once configured (usually a one-time process), it operates flawlessly with just a button press.

Question 2

Does it truly support a full 4K@60Hz signal on both monitors at the same time?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the switch is designed to handle dual 4K@60Hz output. Many users, including content creators and hybrid workers, confirm this performance. For best results, especially over longer cable runs, using high-quality, certified HDMI 2.0 cables is recommended, as a few Reddit users noted the included cables can sometimes be a limiting factor.

Question 3

Can I share all my USB devices, like external hard drives and webcams, between the two computers?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. The 4 USB 3.0 ports are perfect for sharing peripherals like keyboards, mice, webcams, card readers, and external hard drives. Switching between computers transfers control of all connected USB devices simultaneously. Note that some high-power devices (like bus-powered hard drives) may work best when the KVM is connected to a powered USB port on your computer.

Question 4

Who is this KVM switch NOT ideal for?

Accepted Answer

This switch is perfect for most home office and dual-computer setups. However, it might not be the best fit if you: a) need to connect more than 2 computers, b) require a refresh rate higher than 60Hz for competitive gaming, or c) use very non-standard monitor resolutions. For those needs, you'd want to look at specialized 4-in-1 KVMs or gaming-grade switches.

Question 5

What's the actual experience of switching between computers? Is it instant?

Accepted Answer

Switching is very fast—typically under two seconds for both monitors to re-sync. There is a brief screen blackout during the handshake, which is normal for any KVM. Users on tech forums praise the consistent reliability. A small point mentioned by some: your USB peripherals may take an extra half-second to "wake up" after the video signal is stable, but this doesn't affect functionality.
